The latest climate projection models for the Gippsland region show that by 2030 it is likely that:
- average temperatures will increase
- the amount of rainfall will decrease and there will be a change in the seasonal rainfall patterns
- evaporation rates will increase;
- droughts could become more frequent or longer;
- the amount of run-off will be reduced;
- and there will be an increase in daily rainfall intensity and in the number of dry days.
