More rain in South & West Gippsland
Many parts of South & West Gippsland are seeing the wettest year since 1996.
In many places rain in recent days has taken the rainfall to 800 mm for the calendar year to date.
Paddocks are flooding, soils are waterlogged, farm managers and workers are tired & stressed.
Cows are being looked after as best as possible.
Dairy Australia has a useful fact sheet, the best thing right now would be a month of sunshine and a light breeze to dry things out! The latest Milking The Weather Newsletter offers some hope with neutral indicators suggesting that the season may return to more benign conditions...let's hope!
