Where did summer go?
Melbourne has had a chilly and damp end to its wettest summer in 17 years and sixth wettest summer on record, according to weatherzone.com.au. During summer the city gained 306mm, its wettest summer since 1993/1994 when 334mm fell. There were 40 days of rain, 14 more than normal. This summer's rain was also the sixth wettest on record and almost twice the average. The long-term average is 163mm and the record is 361mm, set in 1903/04.
